How can I program my remote to turn up the TV volume on the cable setting?

I have Time Warner Cable and a Synergy V remote. The cable box is Scientific Atlanta. My TV in our living room does turn up the volume on the cable setting. So I know that it is possible. I just don't remember how I did it. Can someone please tell me how?
