What city should I live in Atlanta?

I want to move to ATL. It will be me and my boyfriend. We're relocating from Little Rock, AR. We don't have any kids. So we don't really care about schools. We want a laid back area that's quiet. No nosy neighbors. We don't mind staying in an urban area but don't really wanna get shot walking out the front door. I checked out College Park, East Point area. It seems alright. I know it's urban but that's about it. Our budget is going to be low to begin with so we'll be renting for no more than 700/month. Does anyone have any good ideas of houses or apartments to rent in or around that area. Does anyone know about the Cascade area?
