What to do about numerous parking tickets?!?

Over the past year, I accumulated 5 parking tickets (Miami Dade County, FL) for going over parking meter times. When searching for them on the Clerk of Courts site, it said they were sent to a collection agency and that I have a hold on my insurance renewal (which is due in 2 months). I have been unemployed, and the $300+ balance is way to much for me to pay. I wanted to know if there was a way to get that negotiated. I figure the Clerks Office won't even hear it, but I was thinking a collection agency would. But is that a good idea for my credit score? The closer it gets to the renewal due date, I get more anxious, and nervous. What do I do?
