IUD causing hemorrhaging - please help!!?

ust had my IUD put in 2 months after my baby was born (dec 28th). I had my first period the same day they put it in. my period was a light one. Now, 2 days ago I called my OBGYN (the one who put the IUD in) to ask him if spotting for a day and a half after having sex is normal. he said yes. I also asked him if its normal for my husband to feel the iud as well...he said yes. The day after (yesterday), I started to bleed so much that i was running down my legs and i was dropping blood clots the size of apples. I decided to go to my general dr and she said my tummy is swollen, the pregnancy test came out neg, and I'm not anemic. She wants me to get an ultrasound done so I'm waiting for my insurance to approve it (she said it could take 2-3 days). And that if I get worse to go to the hospital. I fainted last night and I've been feeling tired and light headed...Dr said its normal when you loose so much blood. Anyone gone through this before? Please help! I don't know what to do. I'm planning on getting it removed.
