Isn't nostalgia painful?

You're only 21!!!! I know what you mean, but you're still only 21. You can in some way relive these times by investing research into them again and making them a part of your life now. Then down the road you'll think the same way about this time. Happens to us all, yes it can be painful, but you just have to embrace the past and bring it back a little if you like. Go out there and buy some DVD's of some of this stuff or some memorabilia, why not?
